I thought this was a very interesting chinese modern approach to Zen Buddhism.

I was writing recently about Chengdu region of China (https://www.eellctravel.com/visitsouthwestchinachengdu) and saw they had planned a very interesting modern Mengdingshan Buddhist Monastery project in the tea plantation area, but original link, somehow was removed the next day. I was unable to locate any more information about the project, even though initially I know I saw all of the design sketches listed, plans, etc. I am not sure who removed it, probably Chinese secret service, lol. But. I found an alternative monastery project by the similar architect and designer that was developed in Bashui Village, situated between Lianhua and Wamo Mountains in Tangxia Town, Rui’an, China instead. It is called a Puming Zen Temple by Meng Architects (https://www.designboom.com/architecture/meng-architects-buddhist-temple-stone-chinese-mountains-puming-zen-temple-03-29-2025) and is set within the valley of Lianhua and Wamo Mountains. Very unusual design indeed, especially for the traditional monastery, however this definitely speaks more Japanese Style to me, not Tibetan or Chinese.
I save a pictures of the original Mengdingshan Buddhist Monastery project I saw. These are it. Anyway, I hope they will still build it someday. Very unique architecture peace.
